July 17, 2019: Develop your workforce and optimize your operations
Attendees of this workforce development breakfast will learn about apprenticeship opportunities in advanced manufacturing for youth and adults. Plus, they’ll learn how Lean / Six Sigma methodologies will optimize operations by eliminating waste and eliminating defects in product, process or service.
Aerospace Joint Apprenticeship Committee (AJAC) is a state registered apprenticeship training program for aerospace and advanced manufacturing industries. They offer a suite of career and educational pathway programs to better develop and grow a skilled workforce. The programs are driven by employer need and based on future industry demands.
AJAC’s business developer, Erin Williams, will present the various occupational offerings for Whatcom County including industrial maintenance, machining, manufacturing production, and youth apprenticeship programs for high school juniors and seniors.
Lean / Six Sigma is a method that relies on a collaborative team effort to improve performance by systematically removing waste and reducing variation in any industry. It combines lean manufacturing/lean enterprise and six sigma principles to eliminate the eight kinds of waste and defects.
Jeff Gray and Mason Gray of SixSigmaTV.net will present on the process of applying lean and six sigma methodologies to your operations and the impact it will have on reducing operation costs, growing your revenue, improving safety, and eliminating defects in your product, process or service.
This free event will be held in the SettleMeyer Hall at Bellingham Technical College on July 17, 2019, from 7:30 – 9:00 a.m. A breakfast buffet will be served. Registration is required; please pre-register online.
