OPPORTUNITY SUMMARY:

As a medical home, Unity Care NW is committed to a patient-centered care team model that engages patients and their families in their care. The Medical Assistant supports daily patient management in our outpatient clinic as part of this multi-disciplinary team & has the opportunity to build relationships with patients since we try to consistently schedule them with their primary care provider.

As an MA Apprentice at Unity Care NW, you will receive 12 months/2000 hours of on-the-job PAID practicum with supplemental coursework and lab days. After successful completion of the program, you will qualify for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam through the National Health Career Association then be eligible to apply for the MA-Certified license through the Washington State Department of Health (DOH).

OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS:

Fully funded course of study including instruction, mileage reimbursement for lab training days in the Seattle area & study materials
Fully paid fees for a CCMA exam and WA DOH Medical Assistant-Certified license (CMA)

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL:

Be a UCNW employee in good standing for at least six months – this is preferred, but may be waived pending other consideration (external applications will also be considered)
Complete an Application for Apprenticeship and Apprenticeship Agreement and submit to HR if chosen for the program
Be able to commit to working at UCNW as a Medical Assistant for a minimum of two years following successful program completion, testing and licensure as long as you remain in good standing as an employee
Apply by December 1, 2021
Be available to start on Monday, January 10, 2022, and attend a virtual kickoff meeting on Thursday, January 13, 2022
